OK Mother Gets 10-year Marijuana Jail Sentence For $31 Deal
A female of childbearing age who has had four of them could be serving a ten year weed jail sentence in Oklahoma. Law enforcement scheme involves getting pot from mom
Police set a trap in Kingfisher, Okla., in Patricia Marilyn Spottedcrow’s home which led to a marijuana jail sentence. An informant paid $11 for marijuana on Dec. 31, 2009 and came back 2 weeks later for another $20 bag. Spottedcrow was caught her mother who’s 50 years old. Drug distribution got them arrested. The women got charged with possession of a dangerous substance in the presence of a minor too as the kids of Spottedcrow were there. Plea deals of two years in prison were given to the women. Being first-time offenders with low quantities of marijuana, they took their chances and pleaded guilty, thinking they would receive probation.

After handing down the 10-year marijuana prison sentence, Kingfisher County Judge Susie Pritchett, who retired in Dec., told the Oklahoman “Considering these circumstances, I thought it was lenient. By not putting the grandmother in jail, she is able to help take care of the children.” A 30-year suspended sentence with five years of monitoring drug and alcohol was what the grandmother received. Spottedcrow was sentenced to ten years plus 2 more because pot was found in her jacket when authorities came to take her away. Prichett said it was “an extensive operation” that occurred. The deals totaled $31.
